A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of a range of offences after officers responded quickly to reports of someone trying to break into a car in Rochford.
We were called at around 4am yesterday (Tuesday 10 October) to reports of someone trying to steal a car in Parklands.
Officers from the Local Policing Team attended the area and made two arrests 35 minutes after the call came in.
A 16 year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, theft from vehicle, going equipped, failing to stop when directed, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance, and dangerous driving.
He is currently in custody.
A 17 year-old boy who was also arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle has since been released without charge.
