Anti-social behaviour incidents have continued to reduce across the Tendring district over the past year.
There has been a 41% drop in anti-social behaviour in the year to 31 August with 923 fewer offences recorded than during the previous 12 months.
Our community policing and town centre teams conduct high-visibility uniformed patrols and plain clothes deployments in Clacton town centre and the surrounding areas as well as Harwich and across the district.
And they work with Tendring District Council anti-social behaviour patrol officers and Tendring Community Safety Partnership to tackle the root causes of persistent offending and to get people the help they need to divert them from this behaviour.
The public spaces protection order (PSPO) in Clacton town centre and along the seafront means we can quickly move people on if they are drinking in the street or begging.
And we also continue to focus on reports of motorbikes being ridden illegally and damage to beach huts.
“Anti-social behaviour is continuing to fall across our district but everyone has a right to live their lives free from intimidation and harassment.
“And we remain committed to working with the district council and other partner agencies to find permanent solutions because we understand the lasting effect anti-social behaviour can have, both on communities and individuals."
Tendring Community Policing Inspector Aaron Homatopoulos
