Following our enquiries since the incident, one man has now been arrested on suspicion of two counts of GBH and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon, and on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug.
The second man was arrested on suspicion of GBH.
Both men have been bailed until 9 December 2023.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward after arresting two people on suspicion of GBH after an incident in Basildon.
We were called at about 3.20am on Saturday 16 September to reports of an assault at Unit 7 in Festival Leisure Park.
Officers arrived at the scene within five minutes of being called and quickly arrested one man on suspicion of GBH and possession of an offensive weapon. A second man was also arrested on suspicion of GBH and possession of an offensive weapon.
Two people were taken to hospital with injuries.
Now, officers want to hear from anyone else at the scene who may be able to help with their enquiries.
Detective Constable William Belsham, of Basildon CID, said:
“Everyone in Essex is entitled to enjoy the night-time economy in the county without being affected by incidents like this.
“Our officers responded quickly and effectively, making both arrests within 30 minutes of attending the scene.
“I’d now encourage anyone who can assist us with our enquiries to speak to us.”
