An investigation into a burglary in which two cars were stolen, sees our Road Crime Team locate one of the vehicles in Basildon in under 48 hours.
Detective Inspector Alan Blakesley said:
We know that burglary is an intrusive crime and having your car stolen has a negative impact on your daily life, that’s why it’s important to support victims of crime and treat each case in a sensitive manner.
It’s imperative we carry out a robust investigation, so the vehicle has now been recovered and awaits forensic examination.
Working collaboratively, we will continue to carry out this important work, utilising the specialist skills of colleagues to help us recover stolen vehicles where possible, and bring those responsible before the courts.
The Ford Mondeo was stolen from Celandine Close, South Ockendon, between 1am and 5am on Tuesday 5 September and was found at The Lichfields, Basildon at around 11am on Thursday 7 September.
Officers continue to investigate and are asking for the public’s help.
