Detectives are appealing for the public’s help to locate a man who may have suffered injuries following an incident in Colchester.
We were called shortly before 11.45am on Wednesday 6 September to reports of a disturbance involving a group of males in the area of Lower Castle Park.
It was reported to us a male had suffered injuries during this incident, before walking off in the direction of East Hill.
Our officers were quickly on the scene by 11.47am, engaging with witnesses and members of the public.
We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have footage which could assist our investigation, to come forward.
We are also appealing for the young male who suffered injuries to come forward as we are concerned for his welfare.
He is described as a white male, around 5ft 10ins tall, aged in his 20s, with dark hair, and was seen wearing a grey top and dark-coloured bottoms.
T/DI Timothy Coyles, of Colchester CID, said:
“Officers responded quickly to this incident and we continue to investigate, including checks of CCTV, doorbell footage, door-to-door enquiries and engaging with witnesses at the scene.
“We are particularly concerned for a young man who may have suffered some injuries and want to find him to make sure he’s ok.
“If he sees this, or anyone knows of his whereabouts, they are asked to get in touch us via 101 or through our online services.”
