Five people have been arrested as our Operational Support Group (OSG) continue their work targeting those suspected of committing harm in our communities.
On Friday (1 September), the OSG supported teams from across the force in carrying out a variety of activities such as making arrest attempts, carrying out high visibility patrols, and proactive stops on our roads.
They made arrests as part of investigations into driving offences, the sale of drugs, immigration offences, and sexual assault.
The team also helped in stopping a vehicle driven by a suspected drink driver and carrying out searches for a stolen vehicle.
Detective Chief Inspector Jennifer Bliss said:
“This was a very productive day for the OSG, supporting other teams around the force to keep you safe and bring suspects into custody.
“Every day the team undertakes a wide variety of activity on behalf of, and in support of, teams investigating offences ranging from sexual and domestic offences, to burglary, to driving offences.
“It’s really important work and they’ll be out across the weekend doing it all over again.”
