The Southend Police and Partners Open Day attracted more than 2,000 people to the police station on Saturday.
The event featured tours of Southend’s custody suite, classic police cars, interactive public order demonstrations, our crime scene investigators, rural engagement and drone teams.
Partners present included Southend-on-Sea City Council, the East of England Ambulance Service, the RNLI, the Safer Essex Roads Partnership, the Coastguard, Essex Search and Rescue, Active Thrive Flourish, and Forward Motion.
Southend West MP Anna Firth and Mayor of Southend Cllr Stephen Habermel were among the crowds enjoying the fun.
Southend District Commander Chief Inspector Jo Collins said: “It was an excellent event and fantastic that so many people took the time to come along.
“The feedback was very positive and I’d like to thank all of our partner organisations who contributed so much to the success of the day.
“We want to be visible and approachable and events like this are a key part of that, as well as an opportunity for people to find out more about what we do.
“Our officers enjoyed answering questions about their work and showing everyone the equipment and technology that helps us to prevent and solve crime.
“We are working every day of the year to keep Southend safe and maintain the strong links we have with community groups and local residents.
“After the success of the weekend, we will definitely look to host another open day in the near future.”
We're offering more ways for our communities to stay up to date with our work across Essex.
