A man’s been arrested and two stolen vehicles recovered in Wickford.
At around 4.30pm on Wednesday (30 August), officers were alerted to a BMW M3 which had been stolen in London but was now in Essex.
The vehicle was traced to a location in Wickford.
When officers arrived, they found the car and a Ford Fiesta which we identified had been taken from an address in Epping the previous day.
Officers also identified other vehicle parts which they suspected had been taken from stolen cars.
A 27 year-old man from Hornchurch was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
He has subsequently been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Blakesley said:
“Locating and recovering stolen vehicles is a priority for us because we know the impact having your car stolen has.
“In the last couple of weeks we’ve recovered around 20 vehicles of varying makes, models, and values.
“It doesn’t matter if your car is brand new and top of the range or the car you’ve had for more than a decade. We know it matters to you, so it matters to us.”
