One team of officers has arrested 190 suspects in March 2023, as they target dangerous offenders in our county and dangerous drivers on our highways.
The Operational Support Group (OSG) operated across Essex were out supporting local officers.
Among the arrests were 67 suspects identified for violent offences and posing the greatest risk to the public. These offences include rape, robbery, causing grievous bodily harm and aggravated burglary.
To make these arrests they also carried out 26 search warrants, made 153 stop and searches and deployed their drones 10 times.
OSG have also been proactively policing our roads, taking 39 vehicles off the road for no insurance.
Superintendent Phil Stinger, of our Operational Policing Command, said:
“Our job is to support teams from across the force to get suspects into custody and keep our communities safe, and this is exactly what we do every month.
“It takes the huge range of skills our officers have to make these arrests, and the same officers are working hard to support the rest of the force again this month.”

At Essex Police we put victims at the heart of everything we do. The Victims’ Code explains the rights that everyone can expect to receive as a victim of crime, and helps us define what we must do for all victims from their initial contact with our force until the conclusion of their case.
