Officers disrupting the supply of crack cocaine and heroin in Basildon have secured a number of charges in two separate investigations.

Op Raptor, our team working to bring down drug dealers operating across Essex, has been carrying out targeted work against two drug lines operating in the Basildon district.

On Thursday 28 March officers executed warrants at two addresses, in Basildon and London, making two arrests.

At the London address, officers also seized wraps of suspected Class A drugs and mobile phones, while at the Basildon address around £2,200 in cash was uncovered, alongside further drugs wraps, cannabis and mobile phones.

Charges were authorised against Naishe Mandaza, 21, of no fixed address, and Bradley Tegunde, 20, of Cambridge Park Road, London.

Mandaza has been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, possession of cannabis, possession of a controlled drug of Class A, possessing criminal property and possessing a knife in a public place.
He remains on conditional bail until a hearing at Basildon Crown Court on 26 April.

Tegunde has been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine and has been remanded in custody until a hearing at Basildon Crown Court on 26 April.

Following work into a second suspected drug dealing line, on Tuesday 2 April officers executed two simultaneous warrants at separate addresses in Basildon, making two arrests.

At one address, officers made an arrest and seized a lock knife found tucked behind a sofa.

At the other address, an arrest was made and a number of wraps of cannabis were seized.

Charges were authorised against Lewis Harris, 18, of Clifford Close, Basildon, and a 16-year-old boy, from Basildon, who can’t be named due to his age.

Harris is charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis and has been remanded in custody until a hearing at Basildon Crown Court on 29 April.

The 16-year-old boy has been charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class A and Class B and possession of cannabis.

He's been released on conditional bail until a hearing at Basildon Crown Court on 29 April.

Worried about a friend?

Are you worried that a friend or someone you know may be being exploited through County Lines or organised criminal activity?

Maybe they are returning home late, staying out all night or even going missing for days or weeks at a time.

Are they suddenly being secretive about who they are talking to or where they are going?

Or perhaps you’ve noticed they have large amounts of money on them, or new clothing, jewellery or phones they wouldn’t be able to afford.

Through Fearless, young people can pass on information 100% anonymously to get help.

If you need help from police, call 101 or, if it's an emergency, always call 999.
