Two people charged with multiple offences including theft of vehicle, burglary and drugs have appeared in court.
Stephen Foster, 49, of no fixed abode Southend-on-Sea, and Carrie Pordage, 44, of Victoria Avenue, Rayleigh, appeared at Southend-on-Sea Magistrates’ Court on Friday 16 August.
The pair had been arrested in the early hours of 15 August in Westcliff and remanded into custody to appear at court the following day.
They had each been charged with two counts of theft of motor vehicle (on 10 August and 24 July) and in connection with a burglary on 4 August.
At the court hearing, both pleaded not guilty to those charges.
Furthermore, Stephen Foster was also charged with being concerned in offer to supply drugs, being concerned in supply of drugs – both Class A drugs – and possession of a weapon for discharge of noxious substance (stun gun). He pleaded guilty to those offences and was remanded into custody until the next hearing.
Carrie Pordage was released on bail.
Both will next appear at Basildon Combined Court on 13 September.
