A man has been charged as part of an investigation into the theft of over £6000 worth of items from John Lewis in Chelmsford.
An investigation was launched on 20 July following reports that someone had entered the John Lewis store on Bond Street in Chelmsford and stole around £750 worth of items.
A further four offences were reported from the same store with the most recent offence reported on Thursday, 15 August.
On Friday, 16 August, officers arrested a man in connection with this investigation.
Nathan Wadsworth, 36 of Crown Lane, Bromley has since been charged with five counts of theft from a shop.
He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Monday, 19 August.
