Two men have been charged with multiple offences, including burglary and theft, after reports of a break-in at an address in Rochford.
At around 10am on Saturday 3 August officers safely stopped a car near the A127 and arrested two men.
The car had been reported stolen just three hours earlier, linked to reports of a burglary at an address in Clifton Road, Rochford, at around 3am the same day.
Det Con Chris Horton said:
“This investigation has moved very swiftly.
"We patrol night and day and will take robust action when incidents are reported to us.
"Tackling this type of offending is a priority for us.”
Marius Saikakauskas, 22, of Ashingdon Road, Rochford, is charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, driving without insurance, fraud by false representation and driving other than in accordance with a licence.
Zygimantas Vitkus, 22, of Butler Road, Dagenham, is charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and fraud by false representation.
They are both due to appear before Southend-on-Sea Magistrates’ Court on Monday 5 August.
