A 34-year-old man, from Rochford, remains in custody today (Saturday 24 August) for questioning on suspicion of common assault and assaulting an emergency worker.
Chief Inspector Paul Hogben, Rochford district commander, said:
“My officers frequently place themselves in harm’s way as they go about their duties protecting the public and arresting suspects.
“They do not deserve to face injury while undertaking this important work.
“Any such incidents will be investigated to the fullest extent.”
