Officers arrested 22 people on Tuesday and Wednesday over two days this week.
Among those arrested were more than a dozen by our Operational Support Group, who were seeking wanted individuals from across the county.
One man was arrested on suspicion of robbery in Clacton after the victim was reportedly dragged from their car and attacked.
At about 10pm on 12 July, the victim reported driving in Cavendish Drive in Clacton when a car blocked their exit.
The victim’s car was then rammed and five suspects have taken the victim the victim from his car, attacked him and stolen his possessions.
On Wednesday a 42-year-old man from Clacton was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been released on bail until 30 September.
A 22-year-old man was also arrested and bailed for the robbery on 9 August, and our enquiries are ongoing.
In a separate incident, a 17-year-old and 16-year-old boy have also been arrested on suspicion of an attempted burglary in Chelmsford.
Officers were called with reports of the attempted break-in at about 4pm on Sunday 11 August in Stapleford Close.
A group of suspects were seen near an address in the road and one reportedly was in possession of a weapon.
Now, the two boys have been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Both were take into custody on Wednesday 14 August and remain there while enquiries continue.
In the south of the county, a 30-year-old man of no fixed abode has also been arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault, administering a noxious substance and coercive and controlling behaviour.
The arrest is in relation to incidents in Southend between 2020 and 2023, and he has been released on bail until 15 October.
As well as these, officers also carried out 11 weapons sweeps across the county and found four which are now off the streets.
They also carried out more than 100 speed checks, stopped 148 vehicles while policing the roads and seized seven for having no insurance.
We attended seven public meetings to speak to local community leaders, and another 12 community events so residents have the opportunity to speak to an officer.
Superintendent Phil Stinger said:
“This is a 48-hour snapshot of the work we do across Essex – these arrests show you won’t evade justice.
“We are working hard to make our towns and cities safer, to drive down ASB and to discourage anyone from carrying a weapon.
“A huge part of that work is being visible in our communities. If you see our officers, please come and speak to us if you have any concerns and we’ll listen.”
We're offering more ways for our communities to stay up to date with our work across Essex.
