Detectives investigating a fatal collision in Writtle are asking for the public’s help.
Officers were called to the A414 near Hylands Park at around 8:20am on Tuesday 13 August following a collision involving a motorbike and a lorry.
The road was closed between the Three Mile Hill Junction and Margaretting Road whilst emergency services dealt and carried out enquiries.
The motorcycle rider, a man 30s, sadly, died at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics.
The lorry driver, a 52-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation whilst we continue to investigate.
We know that a number of potential witnesses did not stop at the scene and we are appealing to these people specifically to come forward.
We are particularly interested in anyone with any dashcam footage to contact us.
