We’re investigating an incident in Chelmsford during which a boy was approached by a man.
The boy was walking in Chelmerton Avenue, close to Dorset Avenue, between 8.20am and 8.35am on Thursday 5 December.
It’s reported that the boy was then approached by a man who attempted to grab him by the arms. Thankfully, a woman who appears to have witnessed the incident and intervened and the man then left the area.
He is described as 6ft tall, bald but with some hair around the sides of his head and a brown beard which was brought together in a pony tall.
He is aged in his 40s and was wearing a grey Nike jumper, a blue zip-up coat with a fur hood, black and red Nike Air Jordan trainers. He is also reported to have had a tattoo on his right cheek.
We’d encourage anyone with information on the incident to please come forward, specifically the woman who appears to have intervened.
