We’ve arrested three people in Southend on suspicion of theft and other offences after a member of the public reported their mobile phone had been stolen from their car.
We were alerted to the theft yesterday, Friday 13 December.
Officers then worked to trace potential suspects to the Preston Road area of Westcliff last night shortly after 11.30pm.
Three people were then arrested on suspicion of a number of offences.
As part of the investigation, we have also seized two bicycles which we strongly believe to have been stolen. Both are pictured.
If you’ve got any information on these bikes, please contact Southend local policing team on [email protected]. We believe both bikes may have been stolen in the Southend area.
Chief Superintendent Leighton Hammett, who oversees policing in south Essex, said:
“I would urge anyone who may own these bikes to please come forward; nothing would give these officers more pleasure than to reunite them with their owners – especially ahead of Christmas.
“Theft, no matter what the item which has been taken, is an extremely impactive crime and there may be a perception that police do not have time to investigate it, but we will always follow all reasonable lines of enquiry and do our determined best for victims.”
We're offering more ways for our communities to stay up to date with our work across Essex.
