A man has been charged with manslaughter as part of an investigation into a serious assault in Chelmsford last year.
Officers were called to Legg Street in Chelmsford at around 9:15pm on Wednesday, 2 August following reports of a man being seriously assaulted. A man was arrested at the scene.
The victim, 60-year-old Gamal Nasrallah Hassan was taken to hospital where he sadly passed away on Friday, 4 August.
Enquiries within our Serious Crime Directorate have remained ongoing and on Friday, 12 July a charge was authorised as part of this investigation.
Kimarley Anthony, 21 of Fox Crescent, Chelmsford has been charged with manslaughter.
He will next appear at Colchester Magistrates Court on 13 August.
