Colchester: Investigation into fatal collision

Detectives investigating a fatal collision between a car and a cyclist are appealing for anyone with information or relevant footage to come forward.

We were called to the scene, in Argents Lane, near West Bergholt, at around 12.20pm on Friday 5 July.

Sadly, the cyclist, a man aged in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been informed and are being supported.

A 69-year-old woman, from Colchester, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

She has been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.
