Drug dealer who admitted supplying drugs in the Brentwood area, is jailed for 41 months
Officers from dedicated drug enforcement team, Grays Op Raptor, conducted a drugs warrant at an address in Hawksmoor Green, Hutton, on Thursday 4 January.
A search of the property located two drug-messaging mobile phones, almost £6,000 cash, cannabis and some branded clothing. Several items in the home were covered in a white powder, later identified as cocaine.
Interrogation of the mobile phones found that over the previous 12-month period more than 18,500 drug related messages advertising the sale of drugs had been sent.
Zac Chouman, Hawksmoor Green, Hutton, was remanded into custody and appeared at Southend-on-Sea Magistrates’ Court the following day, charged with drug offences.
On Wednesday 26 June, the 33-year-old pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs (cocaine) at Basildon Crown Court. He was jailed for 41 months.
Detective Inspector Rob Maile said:
Drugs have no place in our district, or indeed, Essex and we’ll continue to focus our efforts on those who ply drugs in our communities so that we can keep everyone safe.
No separate penalty was issued for being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs and possession of cannabis.
