Rochford: Man charged after knifepoint robbery

Officers have secured a charge against a man after a knifepoint robbery at a shop in Rochford.
We were contacted at around 6.50pm on Sunday 30 June with reports of a robbery at a convenience store in West Street.
It was reported one suspect entered the shop and demanded cash, before leaving with a two-figure sum.
Officers attended and enquiries have continued throughout the past week.
This work led to an arrest on Thursday 4 July.
A man, 37-year-old Jay Phipps, of Rochford Garden Way, Rochford, has since been charged with robbery.
He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday 6 July).
