Detectives investigating a burglary at a bank in Saffron Walden are appealing for the public’s help.
We were called shortly after 1.30am today, Wednesday 6 March, to reports of two men inside the Santander Bank in King Street and a third man standing outside. All three were dressed in dark clothing and wore balaclavas.
Access to the safe was not gained, but two bank machines inside the bank and a door were damaged.
The alarm was activated, and the men left in a black car towards the M11.
Detective Inspector Andy Drake, leading the investigation said:
I’d ask residents who live nearby to review their doorbell footage and see if they have captured anything that could help our investigation.
I’d also like to ask anyone who was driving in the area around this time, to check their dash cam footage to see if they have captured someone or a car acting suspiciously. No matter how small or insignificant it may seem, it could help us identify those responsible.
