“We will have additional resources in place across the weekend to tackle and deter further anti-social behaviour”
That’s the message from Castle Points top officer after we took action to deal with people setting off fireworks and acting anti-socially on Halloween.
Dispersal orders were put in place in Benfleet and Canvey Island in response to incidents taking place.
Chief Inspector Paul Hogben, District Commander for Castle Point and Rochford, said:
“We responded really quickly on Thursday night when incidents were reported into us.
“We carried out dozens of stop and searches and were very visible in the affected areas.
“I won’t let a small group of people cause residents concern and worry by acting anti-socially and potentially putting people’s safety at risk by letting off fireworks.
“We will have additional resources on across this weekend to tackle and deter any further anti-social behaviour.
“If anyone witnesses an incident taking place, please report it to us.”
