A man has been arrested as part of our response to an incident in Halstead.
We were alerted to an altercation taking place outside a venue in Trinity Street shortly after 1am this morning, Sunday 24 November.
Officers quickly arrived and found one man had sustained wounds to his torso and a second man had sustained a serious head injury.
Both were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries.
Speedy enquiries identified a number of people had potentially been involved in the incident and we’re following a number of targeted lines of enquiry.
At this stage, one man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH.
Detective Sergeant Luke Howard, of Braintree CID, said:
“Our work on this incident is continuing today at pace and we’ve got a number of targeted lines of enquiry that we’re pursuing.
“Clearly, this incident has taken place in front of a large number of people outside The Dorrington Hotel so I know there will be a number of people who have witnessed it and I would urge anyone who has information to please come forward.”
