Rochford: Three charged with supplying drugs

Three people have been charged with multiple drug supply offences following three simultaneous raids in Rochford.

Officers from the Rochford Town Centre team, with support from the Southend Community Policing and Town Centre teams and our Operational Support Group, carried out the warrants across the town as part of an investigation into the supply of Class A and Class B drugs.

Across the three addresses eight mobile phones were seized to be forensically examined, as well as several weapons, drug paraphernalia, suspected Class B drugs and more than £3,000 in cash.

Two men aged 21 and 23, and a 17-year-old, all from Rochford, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

The 21-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of three counts of possessing an offensive weapon.

Tyler Harris, 21, of Roche Close in Rochford, is now charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

Kyran Shirley, 23, of Doggetts Close in Rochford, is charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

The 17-year-old is also charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug. He, Shirley and Harris all appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 30 November and were released on court bail pending a future court date.

Superintendent Leigh Norris said:

“We will not tolerate dangerous drugs in out district, or the violent crime associated with their supply.
“I’d like to thank every officer involved in securing these charges and we will be supporting them as they build their case for the Crown Prosecution Service."
