We’re on the scene of an incident in Waltham Abbey.
We were called to Howard Close shortly before 3.30pm today, Sunday 24 November.
It was reported that a confrontation had taken place and a man had sustained a serious injury.
He has been taken to hospital for treatment. At this stage, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
There is a significant policing presence in the area, which will remain into this evening. At this stage, no arrests have been made and officers are following a number of targeted enquiries.
Superintendent Tim Tubbs said:
“Residents will be aware of a significant policing presence in the area. These officers will be carrying out early but very extensive enquiries including speaking to witnesses, to people living nearby and identifying CCTV opportunities.
"The police presence will continue this evening and I would encourage anyone who is concerned to please speak to those officers for reassurance.
“I’m aware how concerning these incidents may be and I will endeavour to keep our residents as up to date as I possibly can.”
We're offering more ways for our communities to stay up to date with our work across Essex.
