Two arrests have been made and enquiries are continuing after a burglary at a shop in Shenfield.
We were called out to the Co-op store, in Hutton Road, at around 3.45pm on Thursday 5 September.
It was reported three suspects, two male and one female, entered the store before accessing the area behind the till.
They made off with alcohol, tobacco, cigarettes and scratch cards.
As a result of ongoing enquiries, we arrested a 33-year-old man, from London, and a 34-year-old woman, of no fixed address.
They were questioned on suspicion of burglary and have been bailed with conditions attached while our investigation continues.
Sergeant Dan Smith said:
“This was an alarming report and we take any response to incidents of burglaries extremely seriously.
“We made an initial arrest within 30 minutes of the first call coming in, before a second arrest was made as a result of further enquiries.
“These enquiries are ongoing as we build a case and I would continue to urge any witnesses, or anyone with information which could assist us, to come forward.”
