A man’s been arrested a man on suspicion of drugs and weapons offences after someone failed to stop on an e-bike.
Officers had directed a man to stop the e-bike he was riding in Park Road, Wickford at around 7.55pm yesterday (Saturday 31 August).
The rider of the bike failed to do so and tried to make off, mounting the pavement.
Our officers managed to stop and detain the main and, after carrying out a search, recovered a knife, a large amount of cannabis, and a four figure sum of cash.
The man – who is 23 and from Wickford – was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs, possession of an offensive weapon, dangerous driving, and failing to stop when directed.
He remains in custody.
