Nearly 100 drivers were caught speeding in just two hours on two of our major roads as our officers work to keep you safe.
Our Roads Policing Unit and Special Constabulary carried out speed enforcement on the A12 at Mountnessing and the A120 in Takeley on Sunday (9 February).
In just two hours they captured 95 drivers speeding, including five going more than 100mph.
Acting Sergeant Danny Wheeler, from the Roads Policing Unit, said:
“Speeding puts the safety of the driver and other road users at risk and we cannot tolerate it.
“The five drivers caught doing more than 100mph now face an instant driving ban.
“We carry out this activity day in, day out to make sure you can get from A to B safely and will continue to work every day to take those who put your safety at risk of the road.”
