A man’s been arrested and his car seized by officers working proactively to keep Basildon’s roads safe.
Officers stopped a vehicle suspected of speeding and showing as having as having no insurance at around 9.30pm on Sunday 23 February.
A 34 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving as a result of the stop and the vehicle was seized for not having any insurance.
Chief Inspector Dan McHugh, District Commander for Basildon, said:
“Officers are working proactively to keep you safe on our roads each and every day.
“We want to make sure you can get from A to B without your safety put at risk.
“Officers carry out activity every day to keep the communities in Basildon safe which is why we’ve seen nearly 1,500 fewer offences reported in the last year, as well as securing nearly 1,400 charges.
“Last month alone, Basildon-based officers made nearly 250 arrests.
“The communities across the Basildon district have my commitment that we will not let up on ensuring you are safe.”
The man has since been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.
We're offering more ways for our communities to stay up to date with our work across Essex.
