Basildon-based officers secured nearly 1,400 charges last year as they worked to ensure justice for victims of crime.
During the same period of time, we saw crime fall across the district with nearly 1,500 fewer crimes than in 2023.
That includes falls in violent, domestic, and sexual offences, as well fewer home burglaries.
Officers based in the district also attended more than 18,000 incidents in 2024, more than half of those being emergencies.
Chief Inspector Dan McHugh, District Commander for Basildon, said:
“My officers work tirelessly day-in, day-out to identify suspects in crimes, bring them into custody and put them before the court.
“My officers secured more than 10 percent of all charges laid against suspects in Essex last year, highlighting their dedication and relentlessness in getting justice for victims of crime.
“It is work that is taking place every day and the people of Basildon have my commitment that if someone reports a crime we will do what we can to solve it.”
We're offering more ways for our communities to stay up to date with our work across Essex.
