Two men are due in court next month charged with offences in relation to multiple attempter burglaries and the theft of cars.
Between 2 February and 6 February we received six reports of two suspects were seen carrying tools and approaching addresses in Wickford, Brentwood, Shenfield and Billericay.
On 2 February, the Metropolitan Police Service also received reports of a vehicle being stolen from an address in Ilford.
Some addresses were left with damage suggesting someone had tried to force entry, with belongings taken from an address in Wickford and an Audi stolen from an address in Billericay.
In Chelmsford on 6 February, an Audi failed to stop for officers. We safely followed the car and, supported by officers in the Metropolitan Police Service, it was brought to a stop in Kings Hill E4.
The two men in the Audi were arrested at the scene.
Now, Tahmidzaman Sheikh, 22, of Forest Road in London E17, is charged with four counts of attempt burglary, two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
Aaron Leddy, 22, of Aldborough Road North in Ilford, was charged with four counts of attempt burglary, two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, and the possession of a bladed article.
Both are next due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 12 March 2025.
