A dispersal order was put in place in Colchester City Centre following reports of anti-social behaviour.
The order was from 9pm Saturday 8 February until 6am Sunday 9 February.
The area covered is shown in the map and covers Manor Road, Rawson Road, St Mary’s Field and Westway to the west of the city.
It also covers the railway line to Moorside around and including the railway station and the Southway to Maldon Road.
Inspector Gary Derrick said:
"We have received numerous reports of anti-social behaviour this evening.
"These incidents including criminal damage, fighting and public order offences will not be tolerated.
"We have taken this action to enable officers to maintain order by giving them the powers they need to deal robustly and quickly with instances of anti-social behaviour.
"People must be allowed to enjoy their weekend without being disrupted by these types of incidents."
