Detectives continuing an investigation into a serious assault in Harlow have now secured charges against three people.
Our Serious Crime Directorate is continuing inquiries into an incident reported to us on Sunday 2 February.
A 17-year-old boy was found injured in a car park in the Guilfords area.
He had been subjected to a serious assault. His e-bike had further been stolen.
The boy suffered life-changing injuries and his recovery is continuing.
A number of enquiries have continued since this date as detectives work to piece together how he came to suffer these injuries.
Lee Farrugia was arrested in Harlow on the afternoon of Monday 10 February.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, he was charged with robbery.
The 29-year-old, of Spruce Hill, Harlow, was further charged with dangerous driving, three counts of theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, driving without insurance and driving while disqualified.
He remains in custody and is next due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday 10 April.
As a result of further work, Jason Millard, 36, of Oakdale Road, London, E7, was arrested on Tuesday 11 March.
He was subsequently charged with burglary and handling stolen goods, and appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 12 March.
Millard was remanded in custody until a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on Wednesday 9 April.
Charlie Farrugia, 23, of Spruce Hill, Harlow, was arrested on Wednesday 12 March and charged with robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of a controlled drug of Class B (cannabis).
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Thursday 13 March, and has been remanded in custody until a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday 10 April.

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Harlow in which a 17-year-old boy sustained life changing head injuries, have charged a man.
We received a call at 9.15am on Sunday 2 February reporting a 17 year-old boy had been found injured in a car park in the Guilfords area. He had been subjected to a serious assault and had sustained multiple serious head injuries, of which the full extent is unknown at this time.
Following an investigation by officers in our Major Crime Team, a man has been charged.
Lee Farrugia of Spruce Hill, Harlow, will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 13 February where he will answer the following charges in relation to their investigation:

We’re continuing to investigate a serious assault in Harlow in which a boy sustained a serious head injury.
An investigation was launched after we received a call at 9.15am on Sunday 2 February reporting a 17-year-old boy had been found injured in a car park in the Guilfords area.
He had sustained a fractured skull and remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Now, we’re asking for the public’s help to find the victim’s bike, similar to the one in the picture, or for anyone who has information about who was riding it overnight between Saturday 1 February and Sunday 2 February to contact us.
Detective Inspector Stewart Eastbrook, who leads the investigation, said:
We believe that the victim was using this bike early evening on Saturday, but it has not been seen since.
My team and his parents want to find out what happened in the hours before he was found injured at Guilfords.
I’d ask the public to help us find this distinctive bike or find out who may have been riding it as it may help us piece together the events of that evening and anyone involved.

The bike is a black Surron: it has the following distinguishing features;
• After market grey handle grips,
• Aftermarket break leavers (brand Pro E4)
• Aftermarket light with a switch that goes up onto the handlebars
• Silver foot pegs
• Silver front and back sprockets
• It has a white sticker across the body and battery with the words SUPREME, this has half been pulled away
Detectives are investigating an assault in Harlow which has left a teenager with a serious head injury.
We received a call at 9.15am on Sunday 2 February reporting a 17 year-old boy had been found injured in a car park in the Guilfords area.
He had been subjected to a serious assault and had sustained a fractured skull.
He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
Detective Inspector Lisa Hurrell, who’s leading the investigation, said:
“My team is working hard to establish what led up to the victim becoming injured.
“There will be a very visible police presence in the area while we carry out our enquiries.
