Work by officers investigating a robbery in Wickford has led to a man being charged.
We had been investigating an incident in Appletree Way which took place at 6pm on 27 January.
A delivery driver was approached by someone who threatened them and demanded he give them the parcels he had.
Since then officers have been carrying out enquiries including speaking to witnesses and studying CCTV.
On Friday (14 February) a man was arrested and has since been charged.
Sharif Ali, 37, of Appletree Way, Wickford, appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 17 February) charged with robbery and possessions of a knife in a public place.
He is next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 17 March.
