Officers caught up with a vehicle on the A12 which had reportedly been used in a burglary just 12 minutes before.
Officers patrolling the roads were made aware of an incident in Newman Crescent, in Witham, shortly after 4am this morning, Sunday 23 February.
During the incident a number of suspects forced their way into the address and took hundreds of pounds in cash.
It was reported that those involved left the area in a black Audi.
That Audi was very quickly tracked to the A12 and officers from our roads policing team and armed officers were able to safely box in the vehicle and bring it to a safe stop.
Once the vehicle was secured, two women and a man, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A number of items, including £500 in cash, were recovered.
All three remain in custody for questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Jennifer Bliss said:
“The speed at which the whole Essex Police team came together to make these three key arrests shouldn’t be underestimated.
“Just 12 minutes from the emergency call being made to us, three people were safely in custody.
“This is just one example of the work police officers do each and every day, often whilst the vast majority of us are safely in our beds.”
