Loughton: Burglary and vehicle theft arrests

Two men are currently in custody having been arrested on suspicion of burglary and vehicle theft offences thanks to patient officers.

Officers from our Operational Support Group had identified a vehicle parked up in Loughton linked to car thefts.

They waited until the driver returned.

Money, tools, number plates, and a number of car keys were discovered inside the vehicle.

A 19 year-old man from Woodford Green and a 20 year-old man from Loughton were arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft of motor vehicle, and going equipped.

They are currently in custody.

Superintendent Phil Stinger said:

“We know the impact having your car stolen can have

“So tackling this type of crime is a priority for us and we’re getting results.

“In the last year there’ve been nearly 600 fewer vehicles stolen across the county, a fall of almost 10 percent, and we’ve more than doubled the number of cases we’ve solved.

“We will continue this work each and every day”
