Officers made quick arrests on Monday evening after we were called to reports of a robbery in Basildon.
Two suspects were arrested within an hour and the third later in the evening as part of a fast-paced investigation following the incident in Mynchens at 8.45pm on 10 March.
The teenage victim reported that a black Ford Focus car drove at him while he was on his push bike, knocking him to the floor. He then said he was assaulted and received an injury which needed hospital treatment.
He reported that the suspects then fled with his bike.
Officers responded and, following a search of the area, three people were arrested and the stolen bike was recovered.
Detective Sergeant Steve Tilley, from Basildon CID, said:
"This is a fast-paced investigation and we are working to understand the circumstances surrounding this incident.
"Our officers responded quickly and have made arrests.
"Our enquiries are continuing and I would urge anyone who may have been in the area and has not already spoken to us to get in touch."
Two men and one juvenile have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and GBH with intent. They remain in custody for questioning.
