Officers made a quick arrest in Brentwood after a reported stolen car’s tracker was activated.
We were called to an area on the outskirts of the town at just after 8pm on Tuesday 4 March.
After gaining entry to the site officers found parts belonging to a Lexus, which had been reported stolen.
A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of handing stolen goods. He has been released under investigation and our enquiries continue.
As part of our on-going investigation, other car parts which are believed to belong to stolen vehicles, have been recovered at the location.
Brentwood and Epping Forest District Commander Chief Inspector Terry Fisher said:
"We know the devastating impact having your vehicle stolen can have.
"Tackling this type of criminality is a force priority, and we are focused on tackling organised vehicle crime in particular.
"Our investigation into this specific incident is progressing at pace."
