Plane crash in Ahmedabad
The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
A man has been charged with a series of offences after an e-bike being ridden by a man collided with police officer who was on foot in Colchester.
The incident took place on North Hill shortly before 5.20pm on Wednesday 26 March.
Fortunately, the officer was not seriously injured but was taken to hospital to be assessed for injuries to his head and back.
The rider of the e-bike left the scene.
As part of the investigation into the incident, a person of interest was identified, and a man was arrested.
We’ve now been authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service to charge Mohammed Hamad, 19, of Harwich Road, Colchester, with assault by beating of an emergency worker, causing bodily harm by wanton or furious driving, riding a pedal cycle on a road and failing to stop when directed by a uniformed officer, riding a pedal cycle on a road and failing to comply with the indication given by a traffic sign and possession of a Class C controlled drug.
He has been released on bail to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on 7 May.
