Officers have secured charges against a man as part of their investigation into an assault in Grays.
We responded to reports of a fight in Hampden Road shortly after 2.20pm on Friday 28 February.
A man was found with injuries to his shoulder and taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers began enquiries into the incident and traced a suspect to an address in Romford and made an arrest.
Shondell Pemberton, 35, of Abbs Cross Lane, Hornchurch has been charged with GBH with intent and possession of a knife or sharp pointed article in a public place.
He is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday 3 March).

A 35 year-old man from Hornchurch has now been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and is currently in custody.
