A man has been arrested after a number of reports of a man acting suspiciously in a car park in Halstead.
We were alerted to a man who had been exposing himself in a car park in Weavers Court at 3.45pm today, Wednesday 5 March.
Thanks to efforts of members of the public who reported the incident, we were able to work quickly to identify a specific vehicle and where it had travelled.
Officers then also identified specific property, where a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of exposure. He remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Sergeant Luke Howard, of Braintree CID, said:
“I know this incident was witnessed by a number of people and I’d like to thank the person who alerted us to what was happening today and who was able to pass on some really key details which helped us to make a very quick arrest.
“I’d also encourage anyone who witnessed the incident but didn’t report it, to please come forward and speak to us. Our aim is to ensure the person who carried out this act is dealt with robustly and the more accounts from members of the public we have, the stronger the case we can build.”
