Benfleet: Man charged with multiple thefts from shop

A man’s been charged with multiple thefts from shops after a vehicle was proactively stopped by our officers in Benfleet.
Officers from our Operational Support Group stopped a vehicle in Keen Road, Benfleet on the afternoon of 15 July.
Inside they found a large quantity of alcohol believed to have been stolen.
A man and a woman who were in the car were arrested.
Stuart Allaker, 50, of Beech Avenue, Brentwood has since been charged with six counts of theft from a shop and is next due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on 9 September.
A 57 year-old woman from the Chelmsford area has been released on bail.
