A man is set to stand trial accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Loughton.
Reinaldo Valdes was charged as part of our investigation into an incident in the town during the early hours of 24 August 2024.
A woman had reported being sexually assaulted.
Since then, she has been supported by specialists, and has been kept up to date on our investigation.
British citizen Valdes, 57, of Avril Way, London, E4, has now been charged with sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault.
He appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on 11 June and denied both offences.
A trial has now been fixed for the same court in August 2027.
Valdes was released on conditional bail ahead of the trial.
