Detectives have secured charges against a man following a serious assault outside a bar in Braintree.
Braintree CID has continued an investigation after a man was struck with a bladed article in Market Place in the early hours of Saturday 28 February.
He was taken on to hospital for treatment for a serious injury.
As a result of continued enquiries, 25-year-old Thomas Enever, of Wren Gardens, Felsted, has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in public.
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday 9 March.
Enever was remanded in custody until a further hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday 6 April.
