PCSOs help to save a woman’s life
Two Braintree and Uttlesford PCSOs found a missing woman and helped to save her life.
PCSOs Dave Endersby and John Thorne were called to assist in the search of a missing woman from North Essex last week which involved officers from the Braintree Local Policing Team, Braintree Community Policing Team, Roads Policing Unit, Dog Section and the National Police Air Service (NPAS).
The pair could see the area that her phone was giving off a signal and made their way to search for her.
After combing the local area, Dave and John saw the woman standing at the side of a busy road and feared she would harm herself.
They rushed to her to ensure her safety and waited with her until the arrival of colleagues from our mental health street triage team who took her to get the help she needed.
PCSO John Thorne said: “Fortunately we were in the right place at the right time to help this lady and were able to prevent her from coming to any harm.”
