Special Inspector helps to save a man’s life
One of our Special Inspectors has been praised for his quick-thinking actions that helped to save a man’s life in the North of the county.
S/Insp Simon Culling, based in Braintree, attended an incident last week and found a man who had taken an overdose.
Simon acted quickly to assess the man’s condition while reassuring him that he was there to help while a colleague called for an ambulance.
The ambulance crew advised that the overdose could be toxic and the man needed to receive medical attention as soon as possible.
As the man took a turn for the worse, Simon took immediate action and blue-lighted him to hospital.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the team praised Simon for his quick-thinking actions that helped to save the man’s life.
Simon has volunteered his time with us for over nine years and leads a team of 27 Special Constables in Braintree and Uttlesford. If you would like to become a Special Constable, apply here: www.essex.police.uk/specials
