Assistant Chief Constable (ACC), Andrew Pritchard has spent his entire police career with Kent Police having joined the force in 1996. Almost three decades on, he now leads the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate. This department investigates the most serious and complex crimes in Kent and Essex.
Before joining the police, Andrew graduated in Birmingham and worked in the area of psychology services within the NHS.
Since qualifying as a detective in 2000, Andrew's career has centred around detective work. He also worked in hostage and crisis negotiation.
Helping vulnerable people has been a focus in Andrew's career. He has demonstrated this throughout his policing roles whether it was as a detective, a divisional commander, or in a more strategic role.
Andrew enjoys the outdoors, cycling and being a career rugby player (but tends to hold the whistle more these days!).
