Our apprenticeship programme is currently being developed. Here you can find the initial details of what we are looking to offer. The programme will offer a great opportunity to work in a diverse and dynamic environment, gaining valuable job specific experience while earning a salary. Our apprentices will also work towards a recognised industry qualification.

Our apprenticeship programme will last between 18 to 36 months and there will be a number of roles available at locations across the county, depending on which route you choose to apply for. At the end of the apprenticeship, we would encourage our apprentices to apply for any roles that are available but cannot guarantee a permanent role will be offered.

What we offer

A range of apprenticeships will be available in the following areas: 
 

Business and Administration

Our business and administration apprenticeships are likely to be available across a range of departments. Apprentices will develop a highly transferable set of skills that can be applied to many areas of business. This role will provide administrative support to departments like HR, Learning and Development or our Business Centre. 
 

  • Duration: 12 to 18 months
  • Entry requirements: at least 5 GCSE’s (or the equivalent) at Grade A*- C (including Maths and English)
  • You will gain the following qualification: Business Administration Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship

Vehicle Maintenance

Our vehicle technician apprenticeship will allow you to develop skills and knowledge on some of the most up to date modern vehicles and technical areas, from routine service and maintenance, utilising manufacturer’s diagnostic equipment; through to complex component overhauls and specialist modification to incorporate policing equipment. 
 

  • Duration: 36 months
  • Entry requirements: at least 5 GCSE’s (or the equivalent) at Grade A*- C (including Maths and English)
  • current driving licence would be advantageous or you’ll be willing to undertake a driving test within 18 months of starting the apprenticeship.
  • Qualification: Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship

IT

Our IT team is responsible for developing and maintaining our IT infrastructure. Our IT technicians work with cutting edge technology and use their skills and knowledge to support officers and staff in all matters relating to technology. 
  • Entry requirements: at least 5 GCSE’s (or the equivalent) at Grade A*-C (including Maths and English) and a minimum of two A ‘Levels (or the equivalent) with a relevant subject at A ‘Level such as Computer Science.
  • Qualification: Network Engineer Higher Level 4 Apprenticeship
 
We’re also looking to offer a level 4 higher apprenticeship as an Associate Project Manager within our IT department. Applicants will need to have at least 5 GCSE’s (or the equivalent) at Grade A*-C (including Maths and English) and a minimum of two A ‘Levels (or the equivalent).

 

Digital Design

Our Digital Learning Team work within our Learning and Development team, designing and developing computer based learning through the use of training aids and programmes, using a wide and varied range of technology based products. We are looking to offer an apprenticeship in this area.

Our digital learning design apprentice will learn to facilitate the development, design and production of software packages through an externally hosted learning management system, to provide computer based learning for all levels of staff, both internal and external, assisting the relevant course director involved in the provision of the skill and expertise to provide packages of the highest standard.

  • Duration: 12 to 18 months
  • Entry requirements: at least 5 GCSE’s (or the equivalent) at Grade A*-C (including Maths and English)
  • Qualification: Junior Content Producer Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship

WHO CAN APPLY

This opportunity will be suitable for anyone who has recently left full-time education or looking to start a new career and develop their skills and knowledge. Our apprenticeship scheme will be open to anyone:

  • 18 or over
  • living in England
  • not in full-time education (when starting apprenticeship programme)
